Alterations

You've chosen the one now whats next? Whether you have bought off the peg or ordered in it is almost certain you will need some alterations to ensure the perfect fit. Or perhaps you wish to make changes to your gown to make it as unique as you are! We love working with our brides to make their gown personal to them. It's never too soon to start thinking about alterations to your gown, we advise that you book an alterations slot as soon as you have chosen your dress as we only have limited availability each month. During our peak seasons of spring and summer our seamstress is exceptionally busy so it is essential to book in early to avoid disappointment.

We schedule your first fitting approximately 6- 8 weeks before your wedding. This allows plenty of time to complete alterations and have multiple fitting appointments if needed. Our seamstress will be pinning your gown to you, so it is essential you bring the correct shoes and underwear to each appointment. The first fitting is when together with the seamstress you will decide on all the alterations we need to complete. Payment for any alterations will be required at your first appointment. The next fitting will be scheduled depending on the level of alterations you are having, your final fitting will be no more than 2 weeks before your wedding date as this will allow plenty of time for any last minute adjustments. Alterations appointments can be booked for a Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday.

Every bride is different, whilst some may only need small adjustments others may need a full alterations package. The majority of our brides will need some adjustments to the length, it is also normal to expect to adjust the straps of your gown.

Please remember even if you have ordered your dress in it will be made to order and not made to measure so you will still need alterations to achieve the perfect fit. The alterations you will need will also depend on if you wish to customize your gown.

We can add straps, belts and bustles to give a personal touch to your look. Alterations are not included in the price of your gown, the cost of your alterations will depend on your dress. We do offer full alterations packages which range from £250 - £350, or individual costings for slight adjustments and remodelling.
